Eggs Dyed Naturally

Easter eggs 2012

I finally did it. I've been wanting to give natural egg dyes a try for years now, and this year, we finally made time for it.

  1. I'm looking at this on my phone so maybe that is affecting it, but it surprises me that the beets dye looks the lightest. I would have imagined it would do a darker stain.

    1. It could be the lighting. The beets aren't the darkest in person, but they are a definite pink. The carrot tops are so light, they're barely noticeable. We only let them soak for about 30 minutes. Supposedly if you let them soak overnight, the colors will be much more vibrant, but try telling a 4-year-old that his eggs won't be done for 24 hours.
